CASE CONCEPT
This case was designed like the shared wings of an origami crane, which symbolizes the Japanese culture of origami.
Origami cranes are made to wish for luck or peace.
The case’s polyhedral beauty takes full advantage of cutting and polishing techniques.
High precision is critical for the perfect assembly of parts.
The combination of an imperfect circular inner case and a dial plate conjures up an image of Earth floating in space.
Otherworldly simplicity
If an ultimate industrial design is defined as one that allows a new discovery to be made each time it is seen, DIVIDO is one such watch model. The design is simple yet it conveys a story of superhuman artisans behind its creation.
DIVIDO, embodying the case-in-case structure, allows the user to see its structure and movement within, in a subtle fashion, at the top and bottom and on both sides, when viewed from the front.
In addition, as its cases and lugs can all be disassembled, the watch has a multifaceted sculpture-like quality that no watch with a single-case design can achieve.
Indeed, DIVIDO’s design is so unique that there may be no other watch whose lugs protrude above its case.
DIVIDO’s dial is created with a technique called electroforming, instead of printing, to express the traditional Japanese pattern of yukihira.
With this revolutionary concept and unconventional technique, DIVIDO is one of MINASE’s most iconic watch models.
A unique shape giving various impressions depending on the viewing angle and complex luster of built-up polyhedrons.
With its distinctive sallaz-polished edges and surfaces, MORE metal bracelet and case-in-case design, the Divido is an iconic addition to the HiZ series.
